GONCHAROVA, Natalia Sergeevna
b.1881, Nagayevo village, near Tula; d.1962, Paris
Studied at the Moscow Art School, first in the sculpture department under Pavel Trubetskoy (from 1898) and then in the painting department under Konstantin Korovin (1900-09). Participant in exhibitions from 1906: Moscow Fellowship of Artists (1906, 1907), exhibition of Russian art in Paris and Berlin (1906), World of Art (1906, 1911-13), Wreath (1908), salons of the Golden Fleece (1908-10), Link (1908), Knave of Diamonds (1910), Union of Youth (1910-12), Der Blaue Reiter (Munich, 1912-14), Donkey's Tail (1912), Target (1913), No.4 (1914), etc. One-woman shows in Russia in Moscow (1913) and St. Petersburg (1914). Joint exhibition with Mikhail Larionov opened in 1923. Lived in Moscow to 1915 and then in Paris.
